Photo Contest Rules, Terms, and Conditions

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN A PRIZE. A PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

Term:  The Weston County Natural Resource District, hereinafter referred to as WCNRD, Conservation Photo Contest begins and ends on the dates and times declared on the Facebook post announcing the contest. By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest and states that they are 18 years old or older, or that they are submitting an entry with the permission of a legal guardian.

Who may enter: This contest is open to everyone who lives in or has visited Weston County, Wyoming. Individuals under the age of 18 must have permission from a legal guardian to submit an entry.  You may only win once per calendar year.  Submissions from individuals who won a previous contest in the same calendar year as the current contest are ineligible to compete.  This Contest is governed by U.S. law and is subject to all federal, state, and local laws. Void where prohibited by law.

What to enter: We accept photographs of any natural resources or conservation practices that occur within Weston County.  Natural Resources are defined in this contest as any naturally occurring substance that is utilized by humans, including sunlight, air, water, soil, vegetation, animals, stone, minerals, and fossil fuels.  Conservation practices are defined in this contest as any intentional practices designed to protect, enhance, and/or prevent the destruction or degradation of natural resources.

You may only submit photographs that are your original work.  Photos may not be submitted to WCNRD contests more than once.

We do not accept digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos. Minor adjustments, including cropping, spotting, dodging and burning, sharpening, contrast and slight color adjustment, or the digital equivalents, are acceptable. If staff determines that a photographer has altered his or her photo, they reserve the right to move the photo to disqualify it.

Photos with added watermarks, logos, or other markings that identify the photographer will not be eligible, as we want voting to be based on the merits of the photograph rather than the identity of the photographer.  Once voting has concluded and the winner is announced, attribution for each photo will be provided on Facebook and our website.

For any photo in which a person is recognizable, you must secure a model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian and provide it to WCNRD upon contest entry. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person’s rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible.

How to enter: Please submit photographs online per instructions WCNRD gallery page. Entries posted on the Facebook Wall or in any comment sections will not be accepted. We do not accept photographs submitted through the mail or delivered in person. Submit no more than three (3) photographs per contest. We do not accept more than one contestant per e-mail address. High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable. Digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible.  Qualified submissions will be posted for the public to vote on Facebook.

WCNRD reserves the right to disqualify contestants.

Entry deadline:  Users must submit their photos according to the dates and times declared in the Facebook post announcing the contest.

Judging: Photos will be reviewed by WCNRD staff to make sure they adhere to contest rules before being published to Facebook for voting.

Voting: Facebook users will be encouraged to vote according to the dates and times declared in the Facebook post announcing the contest. Users may only vote once.

At that time, the public can vote on our Facebook page for one winner, which will be revealed within 10 business days of the end of the voting period. The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. WCNRD reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. Decisions of WCNRD will be final.

Prizes:  One winner will be selected based on the votes received. All costs, taxes, fees, and expenses associated with any element of any prize not specifically addressed above are the sole responsibility of the respective winner. All federal, state, and local taxes on prizes are the respective winner’s responsibility. The specifics of all aforementioned elements of any prizes in the contest shall be solely determined by the Main Sponsor (WCNRD). Some restrictions may apply. Prizes cannot be transferred, substituted, or redeemed for cash except at Main Sponsor’s sole discretion. Main Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize, or portions thereof, with a prize of equal or greater value. All prizes will be awarded. 

Prizes must be picked up at the WCNRD office; no prizes will be delivered or mailed.  If the prize winner is unable to pick up the prize or would like to waive the prize for any other reason, they may donate the prize to the Community Tree Grant, Weston County Tree Board, or other local entity.   WCNRD can make no guarantees about any plants awarded as prizes once they leave our custody.

Release of Liability: Main Sponsor, its respective affiliates, subsidiaries, parent corporation, Contest Administrator, each of the Contest Entities, and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, dealers, distributors, employees, and agents of the Contests Entities, are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, human error, technical malfunctions, theft, tampering, destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries. By entering this Contest, all entrants, any winners, and their family members, guests, invitees, agents, and employees release and hold harmless the Main Sponsor, Contests Administrator, and each of the Contests Entities, as well as the respective officers, directors, agents, employees and shareholders of the foregoing entities and all others associated with the development and execution of this Contests from and against any and all actions, claims, and/or liability with respect to or in any way arising from participation in this Contests and/or acceptance or use of the prizes and any related travel and/or activities, including liability for personal injury, death, damages, or loss. Any and all warranties and/or guarantees on a prize (if any) are subject to the service provider’s terms therefore, winners agree to look solely to such service provider for any such warranty and/or guarantee.

Additionally, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Facebook from and against any claims arising out of or in conjunction with the Contests or receipt or use of any prize. Further, entrants acknowledge that this Contest is in no way sponsored by, endorsed by, administered by, or associated with Facebook.

Winners’ List:  You may obtain the names of the prize winners either by visiting the Facebook Page or the photo contest page on our website, within 10 business days of the winner being announced on Facebook.
